Caring for a Blind Dog
An eye affliction in your dog can be very difficult and the most difficult can be blindness in your dog. Many owners choose to euthanize their dog when it becomes blind but this is not the only option. Furniture can be moved out of the room to prevent your dog from bumping into the furniture. Make sure to fence in a pool and add railings to any stairs. If your dog is very familiar with the home and has lived there for many years than the dog should still be able to find the way across the house to the food bowl. Additional touch, sound, and smells can help guide your dog and give comfort in the case of blindness.
