Cockatoos require Special Patience

Cockatoos are very noisy birds and require special patience. Owning a cockatoo can be unpredictable and frustrating. These parrots are very demanding and need a large amount of training and constant socialization. It is a good idea to have at least two of these intelligent birds. The behavior of this bird such as biting, screaming, etc is completely natural and can only be reduced through socialization at a young age including hand feeding and weaning as well as freedom of movement. Never yell at your Cockatoo, keep the bird up past bed time, release the bird at his will, climb on furniture or other unnatural behavior.
