Mud Fever is very Serious

Mud Fever is very serious in horses. With Mud Fever a horse will have their skin become red and crusty. Heels can crack and the leg or knee can be effected. Lameness can result. Another clue of mud fever is matted hair. To prevent mud fever make sure to keep your horse dry and warm and keep dry bedding. Do not over wash your horse’s legs and keep your horse out of the mud.
