Purchasing a Horse

Purchasing a Horse

I am going to see a man about a horse. Saying this is one of the best parts of buying a horse but enjoying your new animal for years to come is even more fun. Before buying a horse make sure that you have accommodations including stables and yards setup and that you are able to budget for the appropriate monthly cost.

The best way to test for neglect or cruel handling is if a horse bites. Before purchasing the horse make sure to take several test rides and simulate everyday interaction to see if the horse bites. Ask the owner if the horse bites. It is a good idea to have a Vet inspect the horse before purchase and carefully check the hooves, legs, and body for even the smallest cut. Taking an experienced horse trainer with you is a good idea.
