A young horse can be difficult to care for and train. In most cases the birth of the foal will go quickly unless the baby horse is turned the wrong way in which case a vet will be needed to help with the birth. Keeping the foal warm and close to its mother is the next most important thing with lots of room for learning to run. Start after a few weeks exposing the foal to human contact. The mother should be comfortable with this at this time.
